Remailer Informational Links
- EFGA's List of Reliable
Remailers A little different from Raph's list, and many times
more up to date too. This list also contains remailer chaining latency stats
and a separate Mixmaster
stats page with links for the type2.list and Mixmaster Keys (pubring.mix) needed to use the mixmaster type remailers. Check out the link to their main page. You are sure to find some neat privacy
related stuff.
- Mixmaster Home Page Lance Cotrell's
Home Page for the Mixmaster Remailer-another step up in privacy and
security. Here there are many mixmaster related links to better explain why the mixmaster type remailer was believed necessary by its author as well as links to papers about it
- Mixmaster
FAQ A good starting point to learn about this software, a step up in privacy enhancement.
- The Anonymizer has a secured WWW interface to a Mixmaster remailer.
-
New list of Reliable Remailers established on July 1, 1997.
This is NOT a web page - it requires use of the'finger'protocol
to get the current list. If you do not have a 'finger' client on your machine, you
will not want to use this link. Instead, telnet to port 79 at anon.lcs.mit.edu
(i.e.,enter the command "telnet anon.lcs.mit.edu 79"), and then enter
the name 'user' and hit return for the information. [NOTE; To use the link
above, after clicking on it, you will telnet to the server. Then enter the word
"user" and hit return and you will automatically get the remailer info.]
- Raph's
famous Remailer List Here's the list of reliable remailers.
- Anonymous Remail FAQ by Andre Bacard, author of "The Computer Privacy Handbook" a must read, IMHO. If you don't read the book, certainly read his FAQ. It will sensitize you to your privacy rights.
- PGP & Anonymous Mail made
simple using Windows A worthwhile primer.
- Winsock Remailer Want to run
your own remailer? Have Trumpet Winsock and Windows 3.1? You can do
it with the Winsock remailer. Check it out. Soon to be integrated with
Mixmaster. With remailers dying left and right, this is even more important
now than ever. This link is to the interface for access to the Export Control page and from there, if you qualify, you can download the remailer software.
- Juno Remailer Brief
information on the Juno Remailer - what it is, how to get ot and use it.
Remailer Programs for DOS, Win 3.1, Win '95, WinNT and
Unix
Jack B.
Nymble v1.3.2. This is a new Windows95/NT application currently in
for beta testing. It is fully functional for composing and
sendsending anonymous and nym messages, and for creating and maintaining
nym accounts. It provides support for MIME mail, attachments, and
automatic PGP signing and encryption.
- Knowledge Base. Don't overlook the Knowledge Base compiled by RProcess, JBN's author, with
answers to important questions (including lots of hard to find answers).
Rivertown.Net Potato Mirror
Site. As a public service, Rivertown.net provides an alternative dowload
site for Jack B. Nymble, Potato and Decrypt. However, simultaneous logons
are limited to three users, so try the main sites first.
- Potato v2.3.2
A freeware DOS software package which operates in
Windows 3.1. This remailer utility provides for the preparation of
anonymous and nym messages, including MIME mail, attachments,
RichMail, and automatic PGP signing and encryption. Potato also
includes the Nym Editor, which allows for sophisticated nym account
configurations, including multiple reply blocks.
- Decrypt v2.1
For use with both Potato and Jack B. Nymble, this DOS
program integrates well with all versions of Windows, and includes a
Windows95 installation program. Decrypt provides for automatic
ecryption of nym mail. Given the PGP passphrases, it will completely
decrypt mail from multiple accounts. Decrypt can also export decrypted
messages to some email apps, such as Netscape and Agent, where
messages can be viewed and attachments saved.
- Private Idaho Page with references to the original and sites which have continued its development for a 32-bit environment.
- Premail-0.45 The easy
Unix way to anonymous remailing and NYM remailer use. Version 0.45 released
on or about October 30, 1996.
- The John Doe
Anonymous Home Page. All the information you need to run the Program John
Doe (the author is a member of the list).
Free Web based Remailer Interfaces
See Below for fee-based
remailers
- Java Remailer A
remailer client done completely with the Java Programming Language. You need,
of course, a Java capable browser. The applet will PGP Encrypt your mail and
chain it through several remailers if you like. Really an incredible piece
of work. Note: You need an RSA license to use this from the U.S.
- Replay's Web Based
Remailer One of the few web based remailers left today. Send anonymous
mail right from your browser. You can even chain messages through up to two
remailers.
- Replay's Secured Web
Based Remailer Same as the above, but your session is conducted using a
secured web server (https). But you need a browser capable of 128-bit
encryption for this to be really useful.
- Myemail.Net Web Based
Remailer Similar to Replay's Web based remailer service, however, there
is no chaining of messages. Not tested by your author.
- MailMasher R.I.P. A
little bit about the story regarding the closing is available on the web
page for the site. In addition, the operator will be releasing the code to
MailMasher for not-for-profit use in late May 1997. Details regarding code
availablity are available here.
Here's some information about subscription/fee-based remailing
services, for those who are interested in such information.
- The NYMSERVER The newest remailer
on the Internet. A replacement for the anon.penet.fi with easy to
use, and with return addresses. What the former anon.penet.fi users have
been looking for!. NYMSERVER recently changed from a two-tiered service to a
pay-only service.
- Edtec's Remailing Service
is a commercial penet-like remailing service whicvh costs about $5.00
per month.
- Interlink offers
