The Mac-PGP Resource Page
This is a page for the "lost" OS for PGP, Mac-PGP. Most of the resources on
the Net cover the use of PGP with Windows or Windows '95.
This is somewhat understandable, as PGP was not originally written with the
Mac in mind but had to be ported wholesale to the Mac OS. Thus, this
page attempts, little by little, to pull together resources for the Mac-PGP
User to turn to. We hope you find it useful and enjoy it.
Here are some programs and sites you will probably find helpful:

- MacPGP 2.6.3 Home
Page What MacPGP Web site could even start without a link to the
program's home page where you can garner important information and pointers
about MacPGP, including how to obtain the latest version released in July
1996, which includes built in stealth capabilities. This link is undoubtedly
worth your time to visit.
- The Mac Crypto Page Mac Crypto
Digest and other good stuff.
- MacPGP: Encryption and the Macintosh
A site containing tons of important links to MacPGP front-ends and programs
and information you need to be aware of to get the most from Mac PGP.
- File
Crypt,(f/k/a Safemail/Pretty Safe Mail and PSM)
One of the newer, and better, implementations of an encryption and decryption utility for the Mac.
- The
Mac PGP Kit Ver. 1.7.1 This is a helpful kit of tools to aid encrypting
with PGP and help integrate PGP with the Eudora e-mail program. Key
management features are included as is a nice deletion program and many more
features. Its a large download (over one meg) because of the many included
items.
-
MacPGP Control A Mac PGP Encryption Front End with is written with
Applescript in mind. It also integrates nicely with Eudora (even the Pro
version 3.0), but is slower than the Mac PGP Kit due to the latency of
Applescripts. It also is integrated with the clipboard and has nice key
management features.
- CryptDisk A
utility I would be lost without. Create encrypted disks right on your
desktop. While not strictly a MacPGP item, it is a Mac encryption utility I
highly recommend.
- Chain
Mail 1.0b2 Originally scripted by Jonathan Rochind (and no longer
supported by him), Robert Lytle has picked up this handy mac utility,
substantially rescripted it and is continuing its development. Although it
requires you obtain several external Applescript components, once running,
it will chain e-mail message for you in a fashion reminiscent of Private
Idaho . Its nice, but hard to get running, and whereas you were formerly on
your own, Rob is now out there to lend a hand. Don't forget to pick up the
documentation.
-
Via Nymserver Another (of course) Applescript based program to enable
one to utilize NYM servers. Untested by the author of this web site.
As time goes on, and as members of the PGP-Users List contribute more
pointers to MacPGP web resources, this page will be expanded until,
hopefully, it becomes one of the first places for a MacPGP user to turn when
help with MacPGP is needed.
